This privacy policy covers the information and services relating to the IMAGE toolkit at toolkit.imageautism.com (the “Toolkit”) provided by Leeds Beckett University, UK (LBU, “us”, “we”, or “our”) as project lead for the EU-funded IMAGE Project.
The purpose of this statement is to inform users of the Toolkit about what information is collected about them when they visit this site, how this information is used, any disclosure to third parties and the ways in which users’ privacy is protected. Please do not use the Toolkit if you disagree with this policy.
Information we collect
We collect and process your personal data with your consent. This means that we can process your personal information only where you have consented. As a person whose personal data (name and email address) we are processing, you also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
We collect site usage information from all visitors. This is information that your browser sends whenever you visit the Toolkit. This may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of the Toolkit that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics. In addition, we may use third party services that collect, monitor and analyse this data.
From registered users, we also collect personal information such as your name, email address, your preferences and needs regarding employability and career goals. By registering with the toolkit, you declare that you are not a minor (not under 18 years of age)
How we use this information
Where you have consented to using the toolkit and go on to browse the Toolkit and/or provide your personal details to us, we may use your information to:
- maintain the operation and security of the Toolkit, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes;
- facilitate account creation and the login process, manage your account and send you administrative emails;
- provide you with services designed to help improve your employability;
- ask you for feedback on our services.
Confidentiality and security
LBU takes your privacy seriously. We are responsible for looking after your personal data as Data Controller. Any information we collect will be held securely and in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the UK Data Protection Act 2018 (“DPA”) and any successor legislation to the GDPR and DPA.
Your personal details are not normally disclosed to any third parties. However, under certain circumstances, we may need to disclose your personal details to a third party so that:
- we or they can provide a service you have requested;
- we can fulfil a request for information.
Any information about you that we pass to a third party will be held securely by that party, in accordance with the UK GDPR and DPA, and used only to provide the services or information that was requested.
Where we store your information
Your personal data is primarily stored at a data centre in the United Kingdom. In order to analyse site usage information, anonymised data we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, another destination in the European Economic Area (EEA).
By submitting your personal data or by accepting certain cookies, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. LBU will take such reasonable steps as necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

How long do we keep your information?

Registered users can delete their account at any time. Deleting an account will prevent further login access to the Toolkit, but may not immediately remove all personal data related to that account (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives).
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymise such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
